Elk Grove Giant Pumpkin Festival

The Elk Grove Giant Pumpkin Festival fills Elk Grove Regional Park on October 5 and 6 with dozens of amusements and activities to delight the entire family. As one could imagine, there will also be plenty of pumpkin-themed contests, including a pumpkin pie eating contest, a thrilling pumpkin regatta and the signature giant pumpkin contest, featuring some of the region’s largest — and potentially world-record-setting — pumpkins.

Just outside of downtown Elk Grove, fall aficionados can find any number of Oktoberfest events and other autumn celebrations in and around Sacramento. The annual Farm-to-Fork Festival runs through from September 5-21, 2024 and features regional chefs, wineries, and musicians. One of the larger Oktoberfest gatherings in the region is Sacramento’s annual Oktoberfest at Turn Verein (October 11, 2024), featuring an outdoor biergarten, live music, and German singers and dancers.
