PROJECT OVERVIEW:
A two-story, 54,000 square-foot recreation and fitness facility on 3 acres of undeveloped land within Morse Community Park, located at the corner of Bellaterra Drive and Fire Poppy Drive. The recreation center will expand recreation programming and increase service levels through individual and group fitness, drop-in and registered activities, sports classes, leagues, and tournaments.
Construction Cost and Funding
The Cosumnes Community Services District Board approved $31.5 million to construct CORE Recreation Center, funded through a combination of Lease Revenue Certificates of Participation, Park Impact fees, Quimby fees, and Landscape and Lighting Assessments.
Planned Amenities
Large fitness areas with cardio equipment, free weights, and functional training
2 aerobic/fitness exercise rooms; a multi-purpose room for birthday events and programs
Outdoor fitness equipment
4 indoor basketball courts with 6 pickleball and 4 volleyball overlay courts
Indoor jogging track
Locker rooms and private changing rooms for individuals and families
An event lawn and a bouldering/slackline area
