Overview
The Community and Athletic Center is the hub of operations for CRC’s Kinesiology and Athletics department. Known on campus as the “CAC,” the Community and Athletic Center is a multi-purpose facility hosting community and college events year-round. Specifically, the CAC houses the main gymnasium, Kinesiology/Athletics offices, training room, and classrooms.
In addition to these facilities, the CAC is also home to the brand new fitness center, equipment room, locker rooms, and the “Talon Center.” Specialty locker rooms for men's and women's athletic teams are also housed within the facility. The CAC has played host to a number of community events, as well as high school and intercollegiate championship events.
Clark Court:
- Initially constructed as a join effort between Cosumnes River College, the Sacramento Kings and the Sacramento Sports Association, the main gymnasium is one of the premier athletics facilities in the region.
- With two levels of seating, the gym holds approximately 1500 fans for Hawks contests.
- Clark Court is also host to a number of Kinesiology and Physical Education classes during the academic year.
- With its large holding capacity and first-class, free-floating hardwood surface, Clark Court has been the destination of choice for basketball champions since its construction.
- Clark Court has also served as the host site for the CIF Sac-Joaquin section Division III boys and girls playoffs.
Conway Field:
- Located near the campus's west entrance, the brand new brick stadium is one of the finest stadiums in the region.
- The field features an all-natural playing surface, and boasts hybrid Bermuda grass on its NCAA regulation sized field.
- Conway field sports permanent brick dugouts, bullpens, and batting cages within the facility, with planter boxes and concession area seating along the concourse. Seating capacity is approximately 200.
Soccer Fields:
- The finishing touches have been added to the facility which houses two FIFA regulation fields.
- Seating capacity is approximately 200 in the new facility, with hybrid Bermuda grass on the two 120 x 80 fields.
- New parking lot construction at the entrance of the complex provides greater accessibility to fans and students to the facility.
Softball Field:
- Located north of the West Entrance off Center Parkway, and just south of Conway Field in a shared complex, the brick field is a welcome addition to the campus.
- Seating capacity is approximately 200.
- The NCAA-regulation field sports an all-natural playing surface, with a hybrid Bermuda grass outfield.
- Permanent brick dugouts line both baselines, along with accompanying bullpens, while top-quality hitting cages are permanent fixtures beyond the right field wall.
- Players locker room is comfortable and has all the room to do what is needed.
Stadium:
- Dedicated on September 14, 2012, CRC Stadium enters its second year of use following its massive renovation.
- The renovation included replacing the grass field with a synthetic playing surface, new restroom and concession stand construction, a new ticket booth, and new wheelchair ramps.
- A grass warm-up area was installed beyond the south endzone, as well.
- All these factors provide improved accessibility, and an overall better experience for those attending events at the stadium.
- The stadium will also be utilized for community, cultural, and educational events throughout the year.
Tennis Courts:
- Eight championship tennis courts
- Kinesiology activity courses are also hosted on the site, which includes bleachers.
